Moderation

Keep your server members in order with Circle's Moderation plugin, learn how to here.

Managing your Modlog

A modlog is a channel in your Discord server where moderation actions, like bans, by Circle are noted. To activate your modlog, follow these easy steps:

  1. Navigate to your server's dashboard.

  2. Go to the Moderation plugin.

  3. Select your desired channel from the channels provided in the modlog section.

Selecting your Moderators

We try to make selecting your team of moderators as easy as possible.

To declare a user as a moderator, they must have the moderator role you setup with Circle. To set your moderator, follow these steps:

Administrators are automatically declared due to Discord permissions.

  1. Navigate to your server's dashboard.

  2. Go to the Moderation plugin.

  3. Select your desired roles from the roles provided in the "Moderator Roles" section.

To remove a user from your team of moderators, simply remove them from the moderator role or uncheck their role in the "Moderator Roles" section.

Editing the Muted Role

The Muted role is a role that is given to the desired user when the mute command is executed against them. The role denies the user permissions to speak in your server, and is only attached to the user for the set duration.

To declare your muted role, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your server's dashboard.

  2. Go to the Moderation plugin.

  3. Select your desired role from the roles provided in the muted role section.

Reasoning your Cases

Circle has the ability to require a reason for your cases before executing them. If this is checked, Circle will not allow any moderation actions without a reason.

To start requiring reasons, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your server's dashboard.

  2. Go to the Moderation plugin.

  3. Check the "Force moderators to provide reasons on mod commands" box.

Private Reasons

This feature will toggle if Circle should reveal the reason behind a case in the confirmation message. If this is checked, Circle will reveal the reason.

To toggle this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your server's dashboard.

  2. Go to the Moderation plugin.

  3. Check the "Show reason on mod command confirmation" box.
